In the 3rd episode, the story of the first woman to become a professional chef in Brazil: Benê Ricardo (1944-2018). Orphaned at the age of 12, she became a domestic worker in the home of a family who “took her to raise”. She faced racism and sexism and built an award-winning career — but little known to the general public. The episode also features an interview with chef Dandara Batista, owner of Afro Gourmet, a restaurant specializing in cuisine from African countries.
